Last Week’s Prediction Records:
Overall Prediction Records:
Kevin: 29-12 (Started Week 7)
Josh: 9-4 (Started Week 9)
Dan: 9-4 (Started Week 9)
No surprise here. Cullen Jekel continues to lead us in wins after Week 9 of the NFL season. Adam is only five games behind him though, so we do have somewhat of a tight race entering Week 10. Who do we all have winning Week 10’s games? Let’s find out!
Panthers vs Steelers (Thursday)
What should be the best game of the week, comes earliest in the week. Cam Newton vs Ben Roethlisberger. A 6-2 team against a 5-2-1 team. Both teams are playoff bound, unless an unexpected slip happens over the next seven weeks. James Conner continues to be a force in the ground game. He had another 100-yard rushing game last week against the tough Ravens defense. With Conner running the ball so well, it’s tough for a defense to stop Roethlisberger and his weapons in the passing game.
Despite not having the weapons Big Ben has, Cam Newton continues to lead a high scoring offense. Cam has figured out how to use the weapons he does have, and sometimes makes himself a weapon. Newton’s presence as a runner could make a big impact on this game. Which offense comes out on top?
Redskins vs Buccaneers
Since returning as the starter for the Buccaneers, Ryan Fitzpatrick has been pretty good. He hasn’t been able to get wins for his team though, thanks to the horrible defense the Bucs have. The Panthers are a much better offensive team than the Redskins. The Redskins struggled to score against the banged up defense of the Falcons. Can the Buccaneers hold them to a low scoring output and give FitzMagic a chance to really shine?
Cardinals vs Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes or Josh Rosen? An 8-1 team or a 2-6 team? A team with Kareem Hunt or a David Johnson who doesn’t look like two years ago David Johnson? A team with Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins and Travis Kelce or a team with rookie WR Christian Kirk and an aging Larry Fitzgerald? It’s all pretty obvious to us, barring a miracle.
Bills vs Jets
Sam Darnold is coming off a performance where he threw 4 INTs and 0 TDs, while Nate Peterman is coming off a performance where he threw 3 INTs and 0 TDs. If I had to choose a QB from this game, I’d take Darnold. Darnold has had performances where he’s played pretty well. Peterman on the other hand, plays bad in every game he appears. If it’s not Peterman, who will it be? Derek Anderson? Still taking Darnold.
Jaguars vs Colts
Most of us are picking the Jaguars to continuing crumbling. Despite their 3-5 record, the Colts actually have the number six scoring offense, scoring an average of 28.9 points per game. The Jaguars on the other hand, they only score an average of 16.8 points per game. Will the Jaguars defense be able to carry them to a victory? Or will Andrew Luck continue to put Jalen Ramsey in his place?
Lions vs Bears
The Lions’ offense looked bad last week against the defense of the Vikings. Now they have to face the Bears’ defense, who might be tougher than the Vikings. Everyone on the Lions’ offense was held in check last week. It seems likely we could see that happen again in this game. Two of our writers are going for the upset. It’s a division rival game, so anything can happen.
Saints vs Bengals
After beating the NFL’s last undefeated team last week, the Saints have to be feeling good right now. Now they play the 5-3 Bengals, who shouldn’t be an easy win. The Saints have a defense who has given up a lot of points this season. Once again, the Saints’ offense will be relied upon to win them the game. If the Bengals can slow that down, they’ve got a real shot at the upset.
Patriots vs Titans
The Titans got a win last week, but they let the Cowboys hang around until the very end of the game. Tennessee’s offense will have to be much better against the Patriots this week if they want to win. Tom Brady and his offense can actually score points, unlike the Cowboys. If they get going early, Marcus Mariota and the Titans might be in trouble.
Falcons vs Browns
The Falcons are hot right now and finally got to .500 on the season. Now they have a great chance to get above the .500 mark for the first time. Cleveland could play spoiler, but none of us think that’s not going to happen. They’ve got too many issues to work out right now.
Chargers vs Raiders
Is there much to say about this game other than the fact that the Raiders are just flat out bad? No. Chargers win.
Seahawks vs Rams
The Rams need to bounce back after losing to the Saints last week. For that to happen, the defense needs to find a way to stop Russell Wilson from getting his offense going. They couldn’t stop anyone on the Saints last week, but Wilson doesn’t have as many weapons as Brees. Last time these two teams played, the Rams won, but barely escaped. Could we see another tight game?
Dolphins vs Packers
What does Aaron Rodgers do best when his team needs to get back into the thick of things? He wins games. After losing to the Patriots last week, Rodgers gets a much easier opponent this week. The Dolphins don’t have a QB anywhere near Tom Brady’s level. Rodgers is the best QB in this game, and that will show in the final score.
Cowboys vs Eagles (Sunday Night)
Dallas’ road woes trickled over into their home performance last week. The defense for Dallas remains tough, but they can’t hold up for that long when the offense can’t get anything going. Jason Garrett remains the head coach, while Scott Linehan remains the play caller. In other words, nothing is going to change offensively. Eagles win.
Giants vs 49ers (Monday Night)
This game will be interesting to watch despite featuring two of the league’s worst teams. QB Nick Mullens had a breakout performance against the Raiders last week in his first career start. Can he do it again against a Giants defense who hasn’t been much better than the Raiders? The Giants offense should be better than what we saw from the Raiders a week ago. The 49ers will have to stop Saquon Barkley and Odell Beckham. Interesting game.
